It was at the end of the month of October 2012 when I first heard about Movember. The company I was working for forwarded us an email inviting us to join the cause and, for a month time, to leave growing our moustache as symbol that we were moving for it.

I was unsure to take part on that way, but on the other hand, I donated some money (small amount, not remember how much 😅) to a colleague and friend who accepted the challenge and grown his moustache while he was supporting the cause.

On the following years, I have seen some ads related it, but I was not entirely convinced of taking part. Even from 2016, when I changed my face looking and I started to leave growing my beard.

Many have been my styles but, for some reason, I did not like much to leave only my moustache. Nevertheless, I was close to accept the challenge in at least 1-2 times before this year.

So then, it was couple of weeks ago when I was driving back home, through Birmingham, where the traffic is high, so you can read perfectly the ads of everywhere 🤓. One of those was about Movember, so I thought about it.

Furthermore, I was going to a Halloween party (last night, from the time I am writing this post), so as it required the painting of my face, it would be easier if I completely shaved it. One more reason to take part of the challenge.

Then, on last Friday morning, just before Valiente, of my favourite group Vetusta Morla started to sound through Alexa (that means that the time to jump off bed had just arrived), I looked into the website, I created an account, and I added the target of money to achieve. I hesitate on doing that, but just raise what I could raise, see how it would go, and enjoying the time doing it. But the site said it is better so the people see you are serious then, they would donate easily (not exact words, but meaning it😂). So I did.

Once the alarm sounded, I got up, I shaved my face, and I uploaded the photo into the site. I am not sharing that picture in here, but I will share my profile on it. So if you are curious, feel free to follow the link and, if you want to support the cause, feel free to donate. It’s not a compromise. It’s not compulsory. I will keep considering you as a great reader. But if you do, more than me, the cause of Movember and all what it is involved will be very happy 😃 . And you already know how many times I have wrote in this blog site how much I would like that all the world would be happy, isn’t it? 😜

Fue a finales del mes de octubre de 2012 cuando oí hablar por primera vez de Movember. La empresa para la que trabajaba nos envió un correo electrónico invitándonos a unirnos a la causa y, durante un mes, dejarnos crecer el bigote como símbolo de que nos movíamos por ella.

No estaba seguro de participar de esa manera, pero por otro lado, doné algo de dinero (una pequeña cantidad, no recuerdo cuánto 😅) a un compañero de curro y amigo que aceptó el reto y se dejó crecer el bigote mientras apoyaba la causa.

En los años siguientes, he visto algunos anuncios relacionados, pero no estaba del todo convencido de participar. Incluso a partir de 2016, cuando cambié mi look y empecé a dejarme crecer la barba.

Muchos han sido mis estilos pero, por alguna razón, no me gustaba mucho dejarme sólo el bigote. Sin embargo, estuve a punto de aceptar el reto en al menos 1-2 ocasiones de este año.

Así pues, fue hace un par de semanas cuando conducía de vuelta a casa, por Birmingham, donde suele haber mucho tráfico, por lo que se pueden leer perfectamente los anuncios de todas partes 🤓. Uno de ellos era sobre Movember, así que pensé en ello.

Además, iba a una fiesta de Halloween (anoche, desde el momento en que escribo este post), así que como requería pintarme la cara, sería más fácil si me la afeitaba completamente. Una razón más para participar en el reto.

Entonces, el pasado viernes por la mañana, justo antes de que Valiente, de mi grupo favorito Vetusta Morla empezara a sonar por Alexa (eso significa que acababa de llegar la hora de saltar fuera de la cama), miré en la web, me creé una cuenta, y añadí el objetivo de dinero a conseguir. Dudé en hacer eso, tan solo recaudar lo que podía recaudar, ver cómo iría, y disfrutar del tiempo haciéndolo. Pero el sitio dijo que es mejor para que la gente vea que te lo estás tomando en serio, entonces, donarán fácilmente (no son palabras exactas, pero sí el significado 😂). Así que lo hice.

Cuando sonó la alarma, me levanté, me afeité y subí la foto al sitio. No voy a compartir esa foto aquí, pero sí mi perfil sobre ella.
