What is the most important thing you always carry with you?

¿Qué es la cosa más importante que siempre llevas contigo?

Because Life can be Wonderful. That sentence. Exactly that sentence was used to repeat by the great Andrés Montes, recognised basket commentator in Spanish TV, especially in NBA games, amongst other programmes and other kind of jobs.

He was already famous for half of Spain (just guessing…), especially for all the basket lovers. Especially all those that love the night more than the day. And NBA basketball over all the rest of competitions.

I barely watched basketball at that time (more info in this entry written more than couple of months ago 👉 https://diariodeunvetescritor.blog/2024/05/12/my-love-for-basketball/ ). So I started to hear about that magnificent basketball lover in summer of 2006, when he was commenting at Football World Cup: Ya te digo, Salinas. Tiburón, Puyol!! Were two of the famous phrases of this man at the competition.

But thereafter, the World Cup was at basketball’s, and there, Spain was the sweet surprise for a young guy who lived the summer of his life after going to Camino de Santiago (we talked about couple of times before, last one, two weeks ago) and Lisbon as second summer in a row, where a practising experience with his dog was one of the relevances just few weeks of starting the Veterinary studies. Just few days before of the University classes commenced, I could enjoy the Mr Catering in reference to Calderón, or La rica salsa canaria se llama mojo picón when el Chacho Rodríguez made one of his famous actions on the pitch (look on YouTube the alley hoop with Rudy Fernandez):

And in that Championship for Spain National Team, I could hear from the mouth of Andrés Montes the traditional Porque la Vida puede ser Maravillosa (Because Life can be Wonderful) that I named to this episode, and that many, many times before, and forward, you will see (and read), I did repeat, and I will repeat.

So then, I finally answer the question that WordPress is asking: Happiness. Happiness!! That’s my answer!! That’s my thing I always bring with me. And that’s the thing I try to transmit to all the people around me.

Porque la vida puede ser maravillosa. Esa frase. Exactamente esa frase solía repetir el gran Andrés Montes, reconocido comentarista de basket en la televisión española, especialmente en partidos de la NBA, entre otros programas y otro tipo de trabajos.

Ya era famoso para media España (intento adivinar…), sobre todo para todos los amantes del baloncesto. Especialmente para todos aquellos que aman la noche más que el día. Y la NBA por encima del resto de competiciones.

Yo por aquel entonces apenas veía baloncesto (más info en esta entrada escrita hace más de un par de meses 👉 https://diariodeunvetescritor.blog/2024/05/10/mi-aficion-por-el-baloncesto/ ). Así que empecé a escuchar el nombre de ese magnífico amante del baloncesto en verano de 2006, cuando comentaba el Mundial de Fútbol: Ya te digo, Salinas. ¡¡¡Tiburón, Puyol!!! Fueron dos de las frases célebres de este hombre en la competición.

Pero después llegó el Mundial de baloncesto, y allí, España fue la dulce sorpresa para un joven que vivió el verano de su vida tras recorrer el Camino de Santiago (del que ya hemos hablado en un par de ocasiones, la última, hace dos semanas) y viajó a Lisboa como segundo verano consecutivo, donde ya pudo experimentar una práctica con su perro a pocas semanas de comenzar los estudios de Veterinaria. Pocos días antes de empezar las clases en la Universidad, pude disfrutar de Mr Catering en referencia a Calderón, o La rica salsa canaria se llama mojo picón cuando el Chacho Rodríguez realizaba una de sus famosas acciones sobre el terreno de juego (mirad en YouTube el alley hoop con Rudy Fernández):

Y en aquel campeonato donde España se coronó como reina del mundo fue donde pude escuchar de boca de Andrés Montes el tradicional Porque la Vida puede ser Maravillosa con el que titulo esta entrada, y que muchas, muchas veces antes, y después, ya verán (y leerán), he repetido, y repetiré.

Entonces, por fin respondo a la pregunta que se hace WordPress: Felicidad. ¡¡Felicidad!! ¡¡Esa es mi respuesta!! Eso es lo que siempre llevo conmigo. Y eso es lo que intento transmitir a todas las personas que me rodean.
