Si pudieras «desinventar» algo, ¿qué elegirías?

If you could «uninvent» anything, what would you choose?

No sé qué “desinventaría”, si tuviera ese poder. Pero ¿para qué “desinventar”, pudiendo inventar cosas que nos hagan más felices que consigan que hagamos olvidar las que nos hacen infelices? Así que hablemos de podcasts, pelis y camisetas (o en este caso, de una sola), pero solo de aquellas que nos hagan felices 😉🫶🏼. Así que por algo que ocurrió ayer me dieron ganas de contar una bonita historia, que podemos enlazar con la pregunta de WordPress del día de ayer, y así hacer un 2×1…

Comenzaba el mes de febrero de 2024, cuando en uno de mis podcast favoritos, perteneciente al medio El Orden Mundial, al que estoy suscrito desde hace un tiempo y del que ya he hablado en mi blog anteriormente, comentaron la posibilidad de hacer un podcast sobre Bob Marley, aprovechando la película que se iba a estrenar durante ese mes en los cines de todo el mundo (o todo el mundo que conocemos, al menos), Bob Marley: One Love.

Así pues, se me ocurrió ir al cine a verla, pues hacia tiempo que no iba, y me apetecía ver el episodio del podcast tras la peli, y así descubrir nuevas informaciones que me hubiera perdido.

Al final, hasta busqué una playlist en Spotify de Bob Marley… que luego no escuché mucho, pero bueno, la peli me gustó, y el episodio de No es el fin del mundo, más 🤪.

Semanas (o incluso meses) después, escuchando un episodio de El Sentido de la Birra (lo siento, pero no recuerdo cual), hablaron de una empresa que hacía camisetas de broma, realizando cosas como La Oreja de Van Gaal, en el que mezclaban el nombre del entrenador de fútbol de origen holandés, que entrenó en Barcelona y Manchester United, entre otros equipos, y el famoso grupo de música en español, La Oreja de Van Gogh, o una camiseta con la cara de Bob Marley y la tipografía de Bob Dylan. Lamento deciros que no encuentro su perfil en Instagram, así que tendréis que veros todos los episodios de El Sentido de la Birra para escuchar uno en que lo mencionan… 😄 Yo tan solo os puedo decir que tengo stickers en Instagram de las pelis de Bob Marley y Wonka. Sabiendo que el protagonista de la segunda peli es el mismo actor que hace de Dylan, pues ya casi tenemos la camiseta…😆

Meses después, casi un año, vuelvo al cine donde vi la peli de Bob Marley: One Love. Pero esta vez, para disfrutar de A Complete Unknown, que como bien dice su nombre, desconocía completamente que era sobre la vida de Bob Dylan. ¡Y me ha encantado! No os revelaré nada más, aparte de que os la recomiendo, pues yo la he disfrutado más que la de hace 11 meses, y puedo decir que, en versión original y sin subtítulos, es la que mejor me he enterado de prácticamente todos sus diálogos en inglés 🔝🤓. Al final va a ser verdad que después de casi una docena de años en este país, puedo ir al cine y enterarme de lo que pasa aunque no haya acción (como bien decía en mi primera película en Inglaterra en noviembre de 2012, Sky Fall, una de las que vi en Morecambe, mi primer lugar donde viví más de una semana en este país 😅, que cuando hablaban en una habitación donde no ocurría nada más que la charla, no me enteraba ni papa. Pero bueno, también acababa de llegar, como quien dice…).

Así pues, de vuelta a casa, me he puesto música de Bob Dylan en el coche y, a que no sabéis qué, poco después ha conectado con una de Bob Marley, como si la empresa de camisetas no fuera la única que relacionara a ambos músicos, cuyas películas vi en el mismo cine, poco después de su estreno en Reino Unido.

Por lo que, con ganas de más música, me vine a uno de mis lugares de confianza de música en directo en Stratford, y suerte la mía, me he encontrado con un gran concierto…

I don’t know what I would ‘uninvent’ if I had that power. But why to ‘uninvent’, when we can invent things that make us happier and make us forget the things that make us unhappy? So let’s talk about podcasts, movies and t-shirts (or in this case, just one), but only those that make us happy 😉🫶🏼. So because of something that happened on yesterday I felt like telling a nice story, which we can link to yesterday’s WordPress prompt, and thus make a 2 for 1…

The month of February 2024 began, when in one of my favourite podcasts, belonging to El Orden Mundial (-The World Order-), to which I have been subscribed for some time and which I have talked about in my blog before, they mentioned the possibility of doing a podcast about Bob Marley, taking advantage of the film that was going to be released during that month in cinemas all over the world (or all the world we know, at least), Bob Marley: One Love.

So, I decided to go to the cinema to see it, as it had been a while since I had been there, and I felt like watching the podcast episode after the film, and thus discovering new information that I had missed.

In the end, I even looked for a Bob Marley playlist on Spotify… which I didn’t listen to much, but well, I liked the film, and the episode of No es el fin del mundo, even more 🤪.

Weeks (or even months) later, listening to an episode of El Sentido de la Birra (I’m sorry, but I don’t remember which one), they talked about a company that made joke t-shirts, doing things like La Oreja de Van Gaal, in which they mixed the name of the Dutch-born football coach, who coached at Barcelona and Manchester United, among other teams, and the famous Spanish music group, La Oreja de Van Gogh, or a t-shirt with Bob Marley‘s face and Bob Dylan‘s typography. I’m sorry to say that I can’t find his profile on Instagram, so you’ll have to watch all the episodes of El Sentido de la Birra to listen one where it’s mentioned… 😄 I can only tell you that I have stickers on WhatsApp of Bob Marley and Wonka movies. Knowing that the main character of the second movie is the same actor who plays Dylan, we almost have the t-shirt… 😆

Months later, almost a year later, I’m going back to the cinema where I saw the film Bob Marley: One Love. But this time, to enjoy A Complete Unknown, which as its name says, I was completely unaware that it was about Bob Dylan‘s life, and I loved it! I won’t reveal anything else, apart from the fact that I recommend it to you, because I enjoyed it more than the one I watched 11 months ago, and I can say that, in the original version and without subtitles, it’s the one in which I understood practically all its English dialogues better 🔝🤓. It’s finally going to be true that after almost a dozen years in this country, I can go to the cinema and find out what’s going on even if there’s no action (as I said in my first film in England in November 2012, Sky Fall, one of the ones I saw in Morecambe, my first place where I lived for more than a week in this country 😅, that when they were talking in a room where nothing was going on but the chatter, I didn’t know a thing about it. But then again, I had just arrived to the UK…).

So, on the way home, I put on some Bob Dylan music in the car and, wouldn’t you know it, shortly afterwards it connected with one of Bob Marley‘s, as if the T-shirt company wasn’t the only one to link the two musicians, whose films I saw in the same cinema, shortly after their premiere in United Kingdom.

So, in the mood for more music, I came to one of my trusted live music venues in Stratford, and lucky for me, I found a great concert…
