How was your weekend? How are you coping with the Eurovision hangover? Did your week started OK? I was about to post this on Sunday evening or Monday (anytime) at latest, but I had no much time to finish it, besides I wrote something everyday during last three days, so definitely today it must go. I have been reading a lot of comments and reactions about the Festival since then, so I have made my opinion stronger, I think, and besides I have dive from one side to another, I have finally stayed in the middle… Or maybe more to one side than to another that, I believe, depending on what side you are, you will definitely think I am in the opposite 😆. But I don’t mind too much, as this is only my opinion, and if you change yours while you read me, that is fine, but if you stay even stronger in what you were thinking before coming here, that is totally fine as well. The magic of the articles and opinions, all under an umbrella of respect 😊.

I had a great weekend, nice again and finally recovered from the Scottish virus I was talking about on last week and I also stayed close home, after few weekends away…

So this weekend was perfect to enjoy a new Eurovision festival which I could go to Leamington Spa’s Pump Room Gardens, where Warwick Council stand a big screen and a few food tracks and tents to enjoy the whole day.

And of course, we had the Stop Genocide in Middle East claims against participation of Israel singers in the festival. I was one of the people that claimed the same last year and also this until last weekend but, is this really necessary to stop the war? Is the singer guilty of this genocide? Is this working to allow arms to stop firing and soldiers to stop fighting in Gaza?

On Saturday morning, I watched a video in YouTube with the different singers and songs that were participating along the semifinals and final. And honestly, Israel song was the first one I liked (speaking about melody, hadn’t looked onto the lyrics at that time), following the order the video showed. Then I liked a few more, and of course more than Israel, but this one was not the one I hated the most, not only because Israel was singing, or not only because it should not be there.

Russia, for example, is banned from the festival since they started the war in Ukraine, just because Eurovision is a place of peace. Two years after, Israel did the same in Gaza, then the organization decided that they were not a political organization. So I say really? Is not political a festival where the participants are representing their countries and the public brings their flags? Really? A festival where the main financial party belongs to Israel State? Look at that, Israel finances Eurovision, and that’s why they keep allowing the country to participate…

… But also all the rest of countries are still participating. If they don’t agree with that, why they keep participating? And if they don’t agree that, why they demand that just Israel should not participate if that country is the main finance of the festival? Why not deciding to ban Moroccanoil and getting a different financial party to sufray the Festival then we would talk about banning countries? But again, if the lyrics are not explicit about the genocide, and there is not a real manifestation for the conflict to persist, I really don’t think it should be banned. I looked onto them couple of days ago, and still, I cannot see clear meaning on that, besides all reactions I heard and read about. There you go, so you can tell me:

But well, maybe that is only my perception and my understanding. And those who claim peace only see war in her words… I have to admit that in today’s review, in which I have translated the song into Spanish, there is a phrase that marks a clear meaning (well, maybe not so clear if it has taken me more than two days to see it…). In this podcast, released on yesterday morning by ElDiario.es (sorry, it’s just in Spanish), verified that indeed, the message was pro Estate of Israel, so all around the festival was to ban all those criticize the Genocide over those who don’t.

Honestly, I think that the conflict will cease when all the countries WORK TOGETHER for the PEACE, and that won’t came just banning a singer out of a festival, a basketball team out of a sport competition or a writer out of a Literature Prize.

All of this is far beyond, and if we want PEACE we need to fight for it. Or better said, we need to TALK for it.

I am not here to change your mind or make you celebrate that Israel deserved to be over Austria in the final table of Eurovision 2025. I really do. But I also think that other countries like Estonia, Sweden and Spain should be over Israel. So anyway, I just claim here one thing, and that is bringing to my mind the first Spain’s song I watched in an Eurovision festival that, there in 2002, where Europe were living a real celebration. So with all of you, Rosa Lopez, and her Europe’s Living a Celebration:

All I wish is that Europe deserve to live in celebration, so let’s all work for it, PLEASE!!!

¿Qué tal fue el finde? ¿Como lleváis la resaca de Eurovisión? ¿Habéis empezado bien la semana? Iba a publicar esto el domingo por la noche o el lunes (a cualquier hora) a más tardar, pero no he tenido mucho tiempo para terminarlo, a pesar de escribir cada día durante los últimos tres, así que definitivamente hoy debe salir publicado. He estado leyendo muchos comentarios y reacciones sobre el Festival desde entonces, así que he reforzado mi opinión, creo, y además me he sumergido en un lado y otro, hasta finalmente me quedar en el medio…. O quizás más hacia un lado que hacia otro que, creo, dependiendo de en qué lado estés, seguro que pensarás que estoy en el opuesto 😆. Pero no me importa mucho, ya que es solo mi opinión, y si cambias la tuya mientras me lees, perfecto, pero si te mantienes aún más firme en lo que pensabas antes de venir aquí, tampoco importa. La magia de los artículos y las opiniones, todo bajo un paraguas de respeto 😊.

Por mi parte, he pasado un fin de semana estupendo de nuevo y por fin recuperado del virus escocés del que hablaba la semana pasada y además he estado cerca de casa, después de unos cuantos fines de semana fuera…

Así que este fin de semana fue perfecto para disfrutar de un nuevo festival de Eurovisión que vi en los Pump Room Gardens de Leamington Spa, donde el ayuntamiento de Warwick puso una gran pantalla y camiones y carpas de comida para disfrutar del evento durante todo el día.

Y por supuesto, tuvimos las manifestaciones de Cesen el Genocidio en Oriente Próximo contra la participación de Israel en el festival. Yo fui una de las personas que reclamó lo mismo el año pasado y también este hasta el fin de semana pasado pero, ¿es esto realmente necesario para parar la guerra? ¿Es el cantante culpable de este genocidio? ¿Sirve esto para que las armas dejen de disparar y los soldados dejen de luchar en Gaza?

El sábado por la mañana, estaba viendo un vídeo en YouTube con los diferentes cantantes y canciones que participaban a lo largo de las semifinales y final. Y sinceramente, la canción de Israel fue la primera que me gustó (hablando de melodía, no había mirado la letra en ese momento), siguiendo el orden que mostraba el vídeo. Luego me gustaron algunas más, y por supuesto, por encima de Israel, pero ésta no fue la que más odié, no solo porque cantara Israel, o no solo porque no debiera estar ahí.

Rusia, por ejemplo, está vetada del festival desde que empezó la guerra en Ucrania, solo porque Eurovisión es un lugar de paz. Dos años después, Israel hizo lo mismo en Gaza, entonces la organización decidió que no eran una organización política. Así que yo digo ¿en serio? ¿No es político un festival en el que los participantes representan a sus países y el público lleva sus banderas? ¿De verdad? ¿Un festival donde la principal parte financiera pertenece al Estado de Israel? Fijaos, Israel financia Eurovisión, y por eso siguen permitiendo que el país participe…

… Pero también el resto de países siguen participando. Si no están de acuerdo, ¿por qué siguen ahí? Y si no están de acuerdo con eso, ¿por qué exigen que solo Israel no participe si este país es el principal financiador del festival? ¿Por qué no deciden prohibir Moroccanoil y conseguir que otra parte financie el festival y entonces hablamos de prohibir países? Pero de nuevo, si la letra (de la canción) no es explícita sobre el genocidio, y no hay una manifestación real para que el conflicto persista, realmente no creo que se deba prohibir. Le eché un vistazo hace un par de días, y aún así, no puedo ver un significado claro en ello, aparte de todas las reacciones que he oído y leído. Ahí lo tenéis, para que me lo digais:

Pero bueno, tal vez sea sólo mi percepción y mi entendimiento. Y los que reclaman la paz solo ven la guerra en sus palabras… He de reconocer que en la revisión de hoy, en la que he traducido la canción al español, hay una frase que marca un claro significado (bueno, quizás no tan claro si a mí me ha costado más de dos días en verlo…). En este podcast, publicado en la mañana de ayer por ElDiario.es, se verifica que, efectivamente, el mensaje era pro Estado de Israel, por lo que todo alrededor del festival era prohibir a todos los que critican el Genocidio por encima de los que no lo hacen.

Sinceramente, creo que el conflicto cesará cuando todos los países TRABAJEMOS JUNTOS por la PAZ, y eso no vendrá solo prohibiendo a un cantante participar en un festival de música, impedir a un equipo de baloncesto competir en un torneo deportivo o que un escritor no sea nominado para un Premio de Literatura.

Todo esto va mucho más allá, y si queremos PAZ tendremos que luchar por ella. O mejor dicho, tendremos que HABLAR para lograrlo.

No estoy aquí para haceros cambiar de opinión ni para que celebréis que Israel merecía estar por encima de Austria en el cuadro final de Eurovisión 2025. De hecho, yo sí que lo creo. Pero también creo que otros países como Estonia, Suecia o España debieron quedar por encima de Israel. Así que de todas formas, aquí solo reivindico una cosa, y eso me hace recordar la primera canción de España que vi en un festival de Eurovisión, allá por 2002, donde Europa vivía una auténtica fiesta.
